The RARE Group provides permanent homes to four native Iowa raptors: Killy the American Kestrel, Denali the Rough-legged Hawk, Bano the Barn Owl, and Bog the Barred Owl. Each of these raptors came to us with injuries so severe they would be unable to survive in the wild, and have been deemed non-releasable.

Killy, Denali, Bano, and Bog receive daily care from our volunteers and participate in our education programs as ambassadors for their species, showing our community how vital raptors and their habitats are to our ecosystem, along with historic and ongoing conservation efforts for birds of prey in Iowa. Behind each of our Avian Ambassadors is a lifetime commitment of care. Sponsorship provides support that allows our team to continue to meet each bird's daily needs. Your sponsorship dollars go toward the individualized care of your sponsored ambassador, including food tailored to each bird's species, any needed medications and supplements, enrichment items, and maintenance/upkeep of mews and enclosures*.

Monthly

• Become a monthly sponsor with a one-time donation covering the costs of care for an education bird for 1 month. Monthly Sponsors will receive a digital package by email including pictures of the education bird, a Certificate of Sponsorship, and recognition in our newsletter.

Quarterly

• Become a quarterly sponsor with a one-time donation covering the costs of care for an education bird for 3 months. Quarterly Sponsors will receive a digital package by email including pictures of the education bird, a Certificate of Sponsorship, recognition in our newsletter, and an exclusive meet-and-greet with your sponsored bird.
